Why You Need Jesus and What You Need to Do

Do you want to have complete peace in your life? Do you want have certainty both in this life and the life to come? If you do, you need to have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Jesus Christ is the only way for you to have peace with God and yourself. There is no other way.

Why is that the case? Let’s take a look.

Why You Need Jesus

1. Everyone has sinned.

For everyone has sinned; we all fall short of God’s glorious standard. (Rome 3:23)

God created human beings in His image (Genesis 1:26), but human beings then fell into sin (Genesis 3:1-19). From that moment on, the curse of sin is upon us. Nobody – except Jesus – can escape sin. Whether we admit it or not, we all have transgressions in our lives.

2. The wages of sin is death.

For the wages of sin is death… (Rome 6:23)

Those who have sinned against God deserve eternal punishment from Him. After they die, they will get thrown into hell where they will suffer eternally. Since we all have sinned, this is the fate we are heading to. Eternal punishment is waiting for us.

But, fortunately, there is good news.

3. Christ came to save us.

… but the free gift of God is eternal life through Christ Jesus our Lord. (Rome 6:23)

Christ has come to save us from eternal punishment. He has died on the cross to carry the burden of our sins. The burden is actually ours, but Christ – who is blameless – took it away from us. He took our place and received the punishment that should be ours.

But it didn’t stop there. After He died on the cross, He rose on the third day! This is important because it means that Christ has overcome death. He is victorious! Through Him, we don’t have to fear death anymore.

Now there is hope for us. You don’t have to receive eternal punishment. There is a way out.

4. You receive salvation by accepting Christ.

God saved you by his grace when you believed. And you can’t take credit for this; it is a gift from God. (Ephesians 2:8)

Through Christ, God has given us the grace of salvation. It’s grace because we don’t deserve it. What we deserve is eternal punishment, but He chooses to give us eternal life instead. Why? Because He loves us so much.

For God loved the world so much that he gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life. (John 3:16)

The grace is now here. It’s now available to you. You can receive it by repenting of your sins and accepting Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior. You can receive it by surrendering your life to Him.

If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. (Rome 10:9)

It’s Your Turn

God has done His part and now it’s up to you. Will you accept His amazing grace? Will you accept His enduring love that is beyond understanding? Remember, this decision will affect your eternal fate. This is the most important decision of your life. Don’t make the wrong choice that you will regret later.

So let me ask you: will you open your heart and accept God’s amazing grace?

If you do, please say this simple prayer:

Lord Jesus, I’m a sinner before You.
Today I repent of my sins and I accept You as my Lord and Savior.
I surrender my whole life to You. I will follow You the rest of my life.

Amen.

If you say this prayer with your heart, you are now saved! Congratulations! You have made the most important decision of your life. You will be eternally grateful for it.

As a member God’s family, you now have a newfound hope in this life and the life to come. Today is the first day of your new life in Christ.

What’s Next?

Now that you have made a commitment to follow Christ, here are some suggestions on what to do next:

1. Contact me.

I’d like to hear your story. I’d also like to help you grow in faith. Please click here to contact me.

2. Be a part of a community of believers.

You need others in your journey of faith; you can’t do it alone. So find and join a community of believers. With “community” here I mean a small group of people where everyone knows and cares about each other.

To find such a community, you can ask a church in your area if it has a small group program. Then ask someone there to help you find a group.

3. Build a daily habit of connecting with God.

To grow spiritually, you need to connect with God every day. So allocate time daily to read the Bible and pray. If you don’t have a Bible, you can get an electronic version for free at Bible.com.

If you have any question, feel free to contact me.
