Making the Best Use of the Time

Here we are now in the last quarter of this year. 2020 is just three months away. Time flies, doesn’t it? It reminds me of this verse in the Bible:

So teach us to number our days that we may get a heart of wisdom.
(Psalms 90:12)

Time flies, but we must learn to use it well. It starts with numbering our days which means appreciating the time we have and realizing the brevity of life.

Moreover, we can learn from these verses in Ephesians:

Look carefully then how you walk, not as unwise but as wise,
making the best use of the time, because the days are evil.
Therefore do not be foolish, but understand what the will of the Lord is.

(Ephesians 5:15-17)

We must make a deliberate effort to best use our time because the days are evil. That requires us to do two things:

  • We must look carefully how we walk. Do we walk as wise or unwise?
  • We must understand what the will of the Lord is. That’s why it’s important that we study and practice God’s Word.

I’m still learning to best use my time but I want to get better at it over time. What about you?
