Spiritual Discipline

In my previous post, I shared with you about appreciating grace. There I said that If you understand how amazing His grace is for you, you will want to serve Him. You will want to do things that please Him.

But there are times when life gets in the way. It could be busyness, a challenge, or simply your feeling at that time. At such moments, you might not feel like seeking God. You might not feel like praying or meditating on God’s Word.

This is where spiritual discipline comes in. Spiritual discipline helps you do the right things even when you don’t feel like it. This is what the Scripture says in 1 Timothy 4:7-8:

Have nothing to do with irreverent, silly myths. Rather train yourself for godliness;
for while bodily training is of some value, godliness is of value in every way, as it holds promise for the present life and also for the life to come.

So set aside time daily for praying and meditating on God’s Word. Do them whether you feel like it or not. As the verses above say, you should train yourself for godliness and godliness is of value in every way.
