There is a principle you should keep in mind in doing what God calls you to do. It’s the power of starting small. This is what the Scripture says:
If you are faithful in little things, you will be faithful in large ones. But if you are dishonest in little things, you won’t be honest with greater responsibilities. (Luke 16:10)
The fact is, big things always come from small beginnings. When you start something that God puts in your heart, it might seem small in your eyes. But your ability to handle the small things will determine your ability to handle the big things. If you can’t handle the small things, you can’t handle the big ones. But if you are faithful in the small things, you will also be faithful in the big ones.
So don’t despise small beginnings. Be faithful with what you have. The Lord will then entrust you with more over time.
Another key point in the power of starting small is that you need to start. You need to take the first step. Don’t wait until you have perfect circumstances because they may never come. Instead, get things going. The Scripture says:
Farmers who wait for perfect weather never plant. If they watch every cloud, they never harvest. (Ecclesiastes 11:4)
So let’s use the power of starting small and make things happen.
