A Song That I Like: When I Think About the Lord

I’d like to share with you a lesson from a song that I like. I have known the song for some time, but only recently did I dig deeper into the lyrics.

The song’s title is When I Think About the Lord. Here are the lyrics:

When I think about the Lord
How He saved me, how He raised me
How He filled me with the Holy Ghost
How He healed me to the uttermost

When I think about the Lord
How He picked me up and turned me around
How He placed my feet on solid ground

It makes me wanna shout
Hallelujah! Thank you, Jesus!
Lord, you’re worthy
Of all the glory and all the honor and all the praise!

You can listen to the song here.

I love the lyrics because it reminds me that we need to think about the Lord and remember how much He loves us. We should remember how He has saved us, raised us, picked us up, and so much more.

Indeed, if we remember His goodness, we will want to shout: “Hallelujah! Thank you, Jesus!” As the Scripture says in 1 John 4:19: We love because He first loved us.
