In the Scripture, we can read that the Lord commands us to go and make disciples of all nations. We can read it in Matthew 28:19-20:
Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,
teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.
It’s clear that the Lord wants us to have a heart for the nations. Why? Because He wants all the nations to come to Him. That is His mission for us. We can also read about it in Acts 1:8:
But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.
The Lord wants us to become His witnesses in the place where we live and to the end of the earth. That is the reason why we have received the power of the Holy Spirit.
The fact is, there are many nations that need Jesus. There are many nations that need to receive salvation in His name. We need to do our parts to make it happen. We need to pray for our own nations, yes, but we also need to pray for other nations. After all, the Lord commands us to make disciples of all nations, not just ours.
