I hope this new year has been great for you! I’m excited about this year and I hope you are too.
There is something to remember, though: like it or not, there will be challenges this year. There will be difficult times. But you know what? As long as we put our trust in God, everything will be alright. Here is what the Scripture says in Jeremiah 17:7-8:
Blessed is the man who trusts in the LORD, whose trust is the LORD.
He is like a tree planted by water, that sends out its roots by the stream, and does not fear when heat comes, for its leaves remain green, and is not anxious in the year of drought, for it does not cease to bear fruit.
These verses don’t say that life will be easy. They don’t say that life will be without challenges. Instead, they say that you will thrive despite the challenges. Heat may come but your leaves remain green. Year of drought may come but you do not cease to bear fruit. It’s amazing, isn’t it?
Now, what is the key to all those?
The key is where you put your trust. Where you put your trust makes all the difference. If you put your trust in the Lord, you will thrive. But if not, this is what the Scripture says in verse 5-6:
Thus says the LORD: “Cursed is the man who trusts in man and makes flesh his strength, whose heart turns away from the LORD.
He is like a shrub in the desert, and shall not see any good come. He shall dwell in the parched places of the wilderness, in an uninhabited salt land.
So let’s put our trust in the right place. Let’s put our trust in the Lord. If we do, challenges will still come, but we will thrive in Him.
